The Rain Poetry Project
About the Project The Rain Poetry Project was founded by TCC Professor Amy Rains in 2018 and has since been bringing magically appearing and disappearing poems to the Tulsa area every April.
Written by TCC students, these poems are transformed into large stencils and sprayed onto sidewalks around all four main TCC campuses: Northeast, Southeast, Metro, and West.
The magic stems from our use of a hydrophobic solution that dries completely clear, so the words remain invisible until the pavement around them gets wet. That means each time it rains, original student poems appear on the sidewalks where there seemed to be nothing before.
Current Poems The student poems selected for stenciling in the 2025 edition of this project are:
“Up in the Red Mountains” by ALPIE LEIN
“Head back taste the rain” by SCOUT HAGGARD
“If I could control my dreams” by AMELIA GREEN
“Who ever savored the first bite” by ALEX STARR
Viewing the Poems Use one of the Google Maps below to see the exact locations of each poem. Even on sunny days, you can simply bring a water bottle and reveal them yourself for an interactive poetry hunt! Prime viewing conditions are from April to June, after which the words will begin to fade.

How to Get Your Work Featured Next Year If you are a TCC student who is interested in submitting your poetry for consideration in next year’s Rain Poetry Project, all you have to do is submit your work to the “Student Poetry Contest” held through Tulsa Review.
